3rd Line Support Engineer - Unix
The 3rd line Support team is a customer focussed team, providing technical support to ControlCircle customers. The purpose of the job is to:
- Ensure service restoration to SLA by providing technical support to resolve faults on a 3rd line level
- Supporting the service lifecycle through accurate definition of configuration changes on live equipment and the successful execution
- Assuring the service availability by the resolution of problem tickets, thus resolving root causes and reducing fault incidents
- Supporting the service growth through proactive performance and capacity management
- Delivering an improving service through participation in service improvement activities.
- Maintain and augment, where appropriate, internal systems and tools that support the lifecycle delivery
Lead internal and customer initiatives to improve network and security operational compliance with information security standards and regulations such as PCI DSS, CoBIT and ISO27001, through business analysis, risk assessments and application of industry best practices.
Project Manager
The main duties for a Project Manager are:
- Engage with sales teams and customer at contract negotiation to build a detailed plan for solution delivery
- Build project bill of material and resource model to build in to the pricing in conjunction with engineering.
- Act as interface with customer during project delivery phase
- Produce PID and scope of work documentation and gain customer approval
- Manage tasks against project plan for internal and external resources from design though to operational transition, accountable for delivery to time and budget
- Produce revenue acquisition milestones as part of plan and manage to these financial milestones
- Provide appropriate customer communication
- Provide feedback to sales team in case of commercial scope creep
- Manage resource requirements against resource pool in context of broader project portfolio
- Produce and maintain risk and issue registers
- Produce project high light reports and provide regular updates to customer
- Manage customer escalation of issues during project delivery phase
- Ensure successful transition to operations with supporting documentation, contracts and run books
Network & Security Engineer
The 3rd line Support team is a customer focussed team, providing technical support to ControlCircle customers. The purpose of the job is to:

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Expert Knowledge and verifiable extensive experience within a customer facing environment of troubleshooting, performance tuning, capacity planning experience in a major discipline as defined below.
- In addition it is expected that there should be working knowledge of one other major discipline.
- The ideal candidate will have considerable experience working with various troubleshooting and performance tools and a proven methodology to identify root causes.
- Occasional client facing work will be required to provide capacity planning and performance
Network & Security Discipline
A thorough understanding of 4 of the following technologies is expected for an individual to major on Network & Security Technical Support
- Checkpoint firewall 1
- Checkpoint provider 1
- Cisco ASA
- Cisco switching and routing
- Foundry Switching and Load Balancing
- Juniper FW/SSL VPN
- Zeus Technologies
- Fortigate FW
- F5 loadbalancers
- Citrix Netscalers
First Line Support Engineer (NOC)
To provide world-class technical support for our customers by investigating, recording & resolving customer issues and requests within our agreed SLA’s. We excel by providing technical staff to discuss issues with customers directly rather than call centre staff.
- Investigate and resolve any escalated events that arise from monitoring customer environments.
- Maintain your ticket queues to ensure tickets are being dealt with in a timely manner.
- Regular contact with customers updating them with technical progress of tickets or service requests raised
- Initial investigation of incident tickets before working with the 2rd Line Team to identify solutions & prevent repeat faults
- Upkeep of technical documentation related to any changes undertaken
- Maintain and improve personal knowledge of the products and services required to deliver the expected level of technical competency.
- Ensure all activities are recorded within the ticketing system appropriately
- Occasional visits to the DC will be required for physical resolution.
- 24x7 Shift Work
